The mission of a rural health clinic (รพ.สต.) can simply be summarized as providing primary care and rehabilitation services, thus serving the community from womb to tomb. This includes basic medical examination and treatment, antenatal care, immunization services (childhood vaccinations), nutrition care, school health programs, consumer protection, screening for various disorders, treatment for diabetes and hypertension, breast cancer and cervical cancer screenings, care for the disabled and elderly, rehabilitative services, and other community-based services.
