1. Eye Disease Diagnosis by Ophthalmologist

An ophthalmologist will perform an eye exam using specialized equipment to assess your eye health, including:

• Vision Assessment: Testing visual acuity for near and far distances, and color perception tests.
• Eye Disease Screening: Checking for conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, or other potential issues affecting vision.
• Retina Exam: Using tools to inspect the retina and blood vessels in the eye, which can indicate problems like diabetic retinopathy.
• Intraocular Pressure Test: Checking for glaucoma by measuring the pressure inside the eye.

2. Vision Testing

The ophthalmologist will perform tests to assess refractive errors, such as:

• Refraction Test: To determine the presence of conditions like nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), or astigmatism.
• Near and Distance Vision Tests: Testing vision clarity at different distances, often using an eye chart.

3. Eyewear Prescription and Treatment

After your eye exam, if vision problems are detected, the ophthalmologist may recommend:

• Eyeglasses or Contact Lenses: For refractive errors like myopia or hyperopia.
• Eye Disease Treatment: Such as surgery for cataracts, glaucoma management, or other eye treatments.
