King Bhumibol Adulyadej

Was the 9th King of Thailand and one of the longest-reigning monarchs in history. He was born on December 5, 1927, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, and ascended to the throne on June 9, 1946, following the death of his brother, King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII).
