Phraya Singhanatracha was the first governor of Mae Hong Son and he gave the name to the city. You can see the Phraya Singhanatracha memorial at the entrance of the city center. The statue itself is relatively small. However, it is located in the middle of a beautiful and well-kept flower garden.
