Sam Chuk Market
The Khun Chamnong Chinanurak House is a three-story wooden shophouse preserving the old architectural style, with beautifully carved wooden balconies and eaves. Khun Chamnong Chinanurak, the original Chinese owner, was the first tax collector of Sam Chuk. Today, the house remains in the possession of his descendants.
The saying "markets have their own life, museums have their own spirit" is probably not an exaggeration for the "Sam Chuk Market" in Suphan Buri Province. Sam Chuk Market is a traditional market located on the banks of the Suphan Buri River. In the past, it was a bustling commercial hub where villagers from the west would bring forest products to trade and do business with boat merchants. However, as times have changed, the once-flourishing market, which has been vibrant for over a hundred years, began to decline. In recent decades, water transportation has been replaced by roads, leading several shops to close down.
