Wat Thep Phithak Punnaram Khao Yai
Thep Phithak Punnaram Temple Or as the locals like to call it, Wat Phra Khao, located at Khao Siat A, Ban Klang Dong, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. It is called Wat Phra Khao because this place has Big white Buddha statue It is enshrined there. which can be clearly seen from the entrance road to the temple leading to the big mountain.
The prominent white Buddha statue that stands majestically there is in the sitting posture, known as the Giving Blessing posture. It is named Phra Buddha Sakkol Sima Mongkol or Luang Por Khao, which was a title graciously given by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, Rama IX.
Another testament to the faith of this place is that anyone with a faithful heart and the intention to come and pay respects must climb a total of 1,250 steps, including both the left and right sides. The number of steps is modeled after the 1,250 Arahant disciples of the Buddha, leading up to the grand statue of Luang Por that we can see from afar.
Once you have climbed up and paid your respects to Luang Por Khao, you must not miss the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful views of Pak Chong, as you will be rewarded with the stunning natural scenery that you can behold.
